Job Overview
The Assistant Manager – Finance (Billing) will be responsible to manage and oversee the billing operations for client accounts in alignment with contractual terms, internal controls, and tax compliance requirements. The role ensures timely, accurate invoicing, supports month-end processes, and coordinates cross-functional inputs to maintain billing efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the end-to-end billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing to clients that aligned with approved media plans/ROs, POs and campaigns deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., sales, operations, and client servicing) to verify billable deliverables and align invoicing details.
  • Prepare monthly billing schedules, cost breakups, and assist in revenue accruals and month-end closing activities.
  • Monitor billing cycles and ensure adherence to contract terms and client agreements.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to billing and liaise with clients to address queries.
  • Oversee accurate posting and reconciliation of receipts, including knocking-off of invoices and updating client statements of account (SOAs).
  • Ensure timely collection, verification, and proper documentation of income tax and GST challans; escalate any discrepancies to relevant parties.
  • Conduct credit checks for new clients and ensure proper agreements and documentation are in place and maintenance of billing records for audits and financial reporting.
  • Assist in monthly closing activities related to revenue and billing.
  • Support in the implementation and improvement of billing systems and processes.
  • Prepare and present periodic billing reports, forecasts, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, accounting standards, and internal policies
  • Supervise and guide junior billing/accounting staff if applicable and ensure team deliverables are met within timelines.
Education
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance. 
Experience 
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in finance and billing, agency experience is a must. 
Skills 
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, invoicing practices, and tax applications.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
